I Hope We Dance

"Where did the time go?" I asked Nathan who stood by my side.
The reality that I am officially middle-aged slowly settles into my bones.

What does that even mean though? I watch as my daughter dances into an unknown future, and I think I'm not done yet. My future is just as unknown. I still have so much to offer, so much to learn, so much to try, so many dreams. I still have potential and hope and a desire to dance into the unknown.
My sister is celebrating her second 25th birthday this weekend. (Does that mean that I always get to stay 20 since she is 5 years older than me?) She has also just gotten engaged to be married for the first time. This is just proof to me that life doesn't stop as the next generation moves into place to take over the world.
No, the dance never stops, and I'm glad about that.
