Changing the World through Performance and Play
Did you know that there are people around the world who understand the power of creativity, the arts, and collaboration to make real difference in the world?
Yes, I've been talking about this important power for a while now, but this isn't about me. My desire to change the world one creative act at a time sits on the foundation of amazing people who have been doing this, in their own way, for years. Their is a community of artists, performers, social activists, educators, writers, therapists, scientists, politicians etc., etc. who strive each day to create and collaborate in ways that encourage communities to develop and create a truly just world.
Call them Performance Activists. Call them "multipotentialites." Call them clowns. Call them quirky artists. Call them whatever you want, these are my people.
And here's the thing, this community is diverse. These are people from all walks of life, with many different belief systems. Rich, poor, educated, not educated, liberal, conservative. They prove that labels mean nothing because what these people have in common is simply this:
They believe in the power of play to re-imagine and re-create the world.
Performing the World Happenings.
The other awesome thing about this group is that anyone can get involved. Anyone can belong. If everyone is creative, as I believe, then everyone has a space to explore and is welcome to join this world-wide group performance advocates.
Yes, this means you. How do you do it? Thanks to the shift in society because of the pandemic, the members of this community have crossed time zones and barriers to share their work through technology, and much of it is provided for free. I would like to invite you to join me at a really special event where you can discover some of the amazing work that is being done by this incredible community.
I hope to see you there! Be sure to say hello.
