Lessons Learned on My Legs

Over the past 10 days I've walked a lot. My legs are tired.

I've been on three planes, two buses and slept in three different states.

We walked through four different Disney Parks, and we walked through the streets of Manhattan to see an incredible performance of The Girl Without Wings.  We walked until our feet hurt, and my legs yelled "Enough! Enough! I cannot carry you anymore!"

But they could, and they did, because they had no choice.

For you see, as I walked I learned many life lessons--lessons that kept my legs moving despite the exhaustion.

I learned . . .
  • that we should never let go of the child inside, for when we do then we focus on the wrong things.
  • that I will fight against growing old gracefully. That I will not give in and lose my independence or my ability to see the world around me.
  • that sometimes the incredible lessons of life come when you let yourself dream a little.
  • that magic happens when passionate people believe in projects
  • that sometimes you have to stand up for your rights and for what your believe in, even when it's difficult.
  • that allowing people to trample on you and your emotions simply is not worth
  • and that beauty can be found in the simplest of forms.

I think they deserve a rest, don't you? Snapshot_20131021
